Watching a portion of the Republicans old time revival meeting down in New Orleans on C-SPAN was encouraging to me. It happened under the banner of the Southern Republican Leadership Conference.
For instance, I was glad to see that when stylish Flat-Earth Republicans, Tea Party activists and their ilk gather together to rant about how much closer to Jesus they are than their wicked, fornicating enemies -- liberals, abortionists, Arabs, Canadians, vegetarians, etc. -- the ranters no longer feel compelled to burn a cross to make their point.
When they raved on and on about how much better they are than everybody else on the planet, can't we see it as progress that they weren't hiding their faces under pointy white hoods?
