The snazzy post card above depicts what was billed as, “the only point in the world where three trunk line trains may cross each other at the same time, and over their separate tracks.” I can remember seeing that actually happen as a little boy, standing on East Main Street with my grandfather.The circa 1950 image is just one of 662 wonderful postcards in VCU's Special Collection, "Rarely See Richmond." Good post, the triple crossing is a good example of how strategically located Richmond has always been. For business, and military matters.

There you go ... we have found our common ground. Richmond is what it is, in great part due to where it is.
