Some residents of Michael Vick's hometown are preparing a "celebration" for the former NFL quarterback, and Vick is expected to make an appearance at the event, an organizer said Friday. The event is being sponsored by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. No doubt, discussions about which NFL team will sign Vick, or whether he deserves a chance to play again, will continue to buzz at Happy Hours.

Among the community from which he is from, Vick is more hero than goat. Making it to the bigtime trumps everything.
I suspect this will be less true among football fans and kids who used to admire him. If he gets that far, I'm sure he will receive a warm welcome wherever he plays, maybe a bit too warm.
