The New Wave

As a sort of working title, I propose calling the political movement I see a need for, the "New Wave." If the idea of launching a fresh political party spreads I'm sure someone will come up with a better name for it.

In the meantime, paying an oblique tribute to a particularly cool era (approximately 1958-'68) in French cinema history suits me fine. Doesn't it seem unlikely that the solutions for this nation's most vexing political problems are now incubating within the ranks of either of the USA's major political parties?

So, to start with, I'm saying that a new party, organization, or movement, will surely be better off without having to lug around any of the current political establishment's heavy baggage. With regard to how its messaging, and communications should go, the New Wave needs to be nimble.

New Wavers should recognize that searching for the truth and telling the truth is essential. Moreover, New Wavers should strive mightily to believe in the reality they perceive with their own eyes and hear with their own ears.

One of the most insidious and damning things the MAGA Movement (previously known as the Republican Party) has done in recently is to cook up propaganda designed to make ordinary citizens stop believing in their own senses, to doubt their ability grasp the true nature of reality.

So when everyone knows the prices in grocery stores have been steadily going up. However, once again, Trump scowls into camera lens and coughs up a greasy batch of lies: He declares that prices are going down. Down faster than ever.

People are telling him, "Sir, those prices are dropping faster than any time in grocery store history."

The MAGA Party's predecessor, the Republican Party, hasn't had a fresh idea in decades. Meanwhile, the Democrats have a hard time getting out of their own way, but should still get our votes, since they are nowhere near as dangerous as the damn MAGA Party.

Stay tuned...
