However, a temporal swap of two recent events (October’s financial meltdown, and the terrorist attacks in India) could have kept them in power for another 4 years despite those glaring deficiencies. Just imagine the panic we’d be in if the terrorists had hit Mumbai in October, swinging the undecided voters to the old warrior, John McCain, and his pageant-quality running mate, and then the financial crisis hit in late November. Lots of folks would be asking for a do-over!

Ernie Brooks
Washington, DCAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5640358.post-30233596475162097702008-11-28T00:15:00.000-05:002008-11-28T00:15:00.000-05:00He will be gone soon enough, hopefully by January ...He will be gone soon enough, hopefully by January or February. It takes a 3/4 vote of the GOP State Central Committee to remove him and this must occur during a specially called meeting (not at a time or place of his choosing, but that of the Executive Committee). Putting the archaic party rules for J-Fred's removal aside, rest assured that the grown men and women of the GOP are toiling behind the scenes to ensure we have a competent conservative as our Chairman.
